It was so inspiring to see Cherry Tree Nursery School in Warrington featured on Granada TV this evening as part of the Department for Education鈥檚 Do Something Big campaign, championed by Neil Johnson.

The campaign highlights the need for more men in early years education, an issue that matters deeply to our sector. In the North West, 97% of parents agree there should be more men working in early years, yet only 3% of the workforceis male.

Our apprentice Jon-Paul, who is nearing the completion of his apprenticeship, shared what he enjoys most about working in early years and why he hopes more men will consider the profession. Nursery Manager Gemma Mason also spoke about the positive impact Jon-Paul has already made at Cherry Tree, both for the team and the children.

We鈥檙e proud to work alongside Neil, Gemma, and the Cherry Tree team to amplify this important conversation. Hopefully, it inspires more men to see early years for what it is 鈥 a rewarding, impactful, and truly meaningful career.
